Our group continues to evolve at an extraordinary rate. We developed team chemistry which is key in our progress. As a strong member of the team Andy continues to not only bring in the best in himself but also his teammates. He is a strong public speaker and get his message across in a orderly fashion. Although Benjamin is a hard worker and a key component to the team he lacks the necessary qualities such as confidence to speak in front of a large audience.
We often feel preparation is necessary in order to reach success. Although there always seems to be a time crunch we try to fit in a couple of practices. In the past presentations we have been quite successful on what we are trying to accomplish and keeping our classmates engaged. I do feel there is a loss of communication. Often one person plays the dominant role which unbalances the strength of the group.
GoSoapBox is a great way for me to receive and implement feedback. The feedback helps us with enhancing our company as well as presentation. GoSoapBox also helps us realize problems we could have never seen on our own. I personally try to give constructive feedback hoping other companies will improve. My feedback consists of the presentation skills and slideshow.
I believe the judges will feel content with the amount of work put into this company. We practice multiple times, discuss the business aspect, and always are looking at ways to improve. I would rate us a 8 on a 1-10 scale (10 being the best) because compared to other groups I feel our group is well structured with a high intensity level. I would categorize the group definitely at the top of the bunch as other groups don’t seem to be putting the effort we do.
So far, our group presentations have been a very interesting experience. Honestly, I think that Aditya is our best speaker because he knows what he is talking about and he is very confident when he speaks. The speaker that isn’t always the best is probably me or Benjamin because we don’t really answer that many questions during the presentation. We do know the key concepts of our product, but we just aren’t eager to answer questions.
We usually do not practice our presentation beforehand, but I do think it is necessary to keep your speech smooth and keep everyone on the same page. I think we are successfully getting the message of our product across to the audience. I think we need to improve on our Next Steps and our prototype.
I feel that the responses we get on GoSoapBox are helpful to improve our slideshow. We get some new comments that we never think about and sometimes really help us. Usually, my comments on other groups talk about simple mistakes like too many words or no eye contact, etc.
I feel like the judges are going to be satisfied with the effort and all aspects about our company. We have been working very hard and doing everything we can to help our company grow. Although we may not have as much talent as other groups, everyone in our group works hard. I strongly feel like our group is in the top of our class because our team works hard and efficiently, which leads to success.
Doing the presentations with my group members has been a very interesting experience. I personally feel like Aditya is the best speaker in our group because he knows what he is saying and he has an idea for everything. The speaker that may not be as good at speaking is probably me or Ryan, just because we don’t answer questions. We understand the key concepts of our company, we just lack confidence and are kind of nervous to answer. We will work on it and will answer more questions overtime.
We honestly do not practice our presentation beforehand but I do believe that it is necessary so our presentation goes more smooth and everyone knows what they are saying. I think that we are getting the message of our product through the audience and everyone is at least some what interested in our product. I feel like we need to improve our Next Steps, TinkerCAD model, and finish our Prototype slides. Ryan and I could also answer more questions so it doesn’t look like only Aditya and Andy know anything about our company.
I feel like the responses on GoSoapBox are very helpful when it comes to improving our slideshow and our company because it tells us what we can improve on and solve problems that we didn’t encounter before. I think that I am giving constructive feedback on the comments to other groups. Most of my the comments are usually about the amount of words on each slide and voices are sometimes too hard to hear. Usually, they are simple mistakes.
I feel like the judges are going to be satisfied with the effort and every aspect about our company. We have been working very hard and doing everything we can to improve our company. I feel like our group has talent and is unique compared to other companies. I strongly feel like our group is at the top of the bunch because our team can work together efficiently, which leads to the success of our company.
Presentations with the SafeLanes team is pretty smooth. Our group decides our presentation flow efficiently, and everyone tries their best during the actual presentation. Our best speaker is Aditya, in my opinion. Being the leader, Aditya is very passionate about our presentation. Our least skilled speaker is Ryan, in my opinion. Ryan is quiet, yet he understands our presentations meaning. While he isn’t the best, he is still a great presenter. I hope that our team continues to progress in our presentation practices.
I practice my own slides before a presentation, and I do believe it should be executed. Practice is necessary as we progress down the semester, as we near the judging days, so that our group can present well to the judges. It gets you more comfortable with what you are saying, as well as make you more used to your slides. SafeLanes needs to improve on our communication to our audience. While our group may understand the things we cover, our team can’t confidently say the audience does. Many questions arise with our presentation, and we are working hard to stitch up that hole. With selling our product, we are having no trouble, as many bikers have voiced their needs on a brighter light lane. Our team hasn’t talked about science yet, and we will soon add a science slide into our presentation.
GoSoapBox has worked so far. Constructive criticism can be found everywhere in the feedback, and our group continues to use its information. For example, sometimes we get information on how we can create a more concise slide. My feedback for others include speaking tips as well as how to make the presentation more understandable.
In my opinion, our group is at the middle. There is still room to improve, and our team will hopefully strive to succeed. Compared to other group’s presentations, we understand our material very well.
During the first couple of weeks of being CEO I have noticed the members of SafeLanes are high intensity. Each one is sacrificial and willing to do whatever they can to bring success to the company. They are extremely motivated and bring the best out of each other.
Leadership is not something that can be described in just one word, it is a skill that requires different aspects such as patience, flexibility, and humility. The term leader describes a person who has the patience to listen to people’s ideas, and be humble when talking about one's own. It requires a person to collaborate with members of a team while understanding and incorporating different viewpoints and ideas into projects. Being a leader does not mean being an autocrat, but instead describes a person who can make and execute decisions that are based on inputs from his/her peers. To conclude, a leader is a person who demonstrates all of these skills but at the same time has the tenacity to grow and learn from their mistakes.
Conflicts are discussed in a orderly fashion and in most cases after the majority rule is considered we execute the solution to our dilemma. As the CEO I rarely catch a member off task. The reason for this is I often feel the work that is being given can sometime be repetitive. I hope to fix this and make activities more engaging to other member of the company.
Each person in the company adds a unique quality that contributes to the company's success. Over the past weeks we have built team chemistry and better understand each other's strength and weakness. Everybody in the company has the desire and competitive spirit to achieve success and will stop at nothing to achieve it. The team operates at a high intensity level and continues to help the company grow. I am planning to make sure everybody stays on task and bring an efficient learning environment to the table.
Our team interactions have been going pretty good so far this week. Our team is motivated to work and finish our assignments. We are also friendly and encouraging when working with each other and like to give each other advice. Sometimes we may get off task but we can easily get each other to get back on task.
A good leader should be able to keep everyone on task and able to work with everyone. The leader should be able to make important decisions and make sure we are going in a good path. We have established a clear relationship with each other, we all share the same responsibilities and no one takes charge. Meaning, everyone is treated equally and no one is actually higher than others.
The biggest conflicts that we have had to handle so far is making sure everyone is on task. To keep everyone on task, the CEO would sometimes walk around the table and monitor everyone’s screen to make sure we aren’t doing anything else. We would also just tell each other that the person shouldn’t be doing whatever he/she is doing. Some people may not be working efficiently in the team maybe because they don’t really have anything to do. I wouldn’t fire anyone so far because everyone has a part in the company already and everyone is able to do whatever they are assigned to do.
The personalities of the people in my company are very important to me because without the characteristics and personalities of these people, we would be weak in some parts of our company. It is very important that we have friendship throughout our company because we work with these people everyday, building a friendship would make it easier for everyone to work together. It would not be efficient to have one person take charge because then the other people would feel like they are being used as slaves and they don’t have a part in the company. Our team has a strong friendship because we all like working with each other and like to pitch in ideas anytime we want. Some strategies that we would use as the week progresses is just to keep on working like we do everyday. Everyone is having a good time while finishing everything that we are doing.
Our team interactions have been going pretty smooth, thus far. Our team is very motivated to finish our assignments. Our team communication is getting better and better every day. We give lots of advice to each other, and we encourage each other a lot. Sometimes we have arguments, but they are settled fairly quickly with a small debate.
A good leader works and reasons with his team by helping them take the right road. In our team, the leadership is obvious, but we do keep a system to balance the power. Our team members understand that there has to be a leader to make all the important decisions and keep the company stable. We do have a democracy, which allows the other 3 people to overturn a decision with a vote. Having leadership is necessary, but in the beginning, the team should be equal. Soon, the team can choose a leader.
Conflicts in our group have been managed fairly easily. Each member of the team voices their opinions and the discussion ends with a vote. We try to stay efficient by checking on the person next to you to see if they are on task. We wouldn’t have fired anyone because each person plays a very important role on this team so if we fired someone, we wouldn’t be able to make progress.
Our team members’ personalities are very important to the progress of our product. For example, if a person is not being very positive, the whole team will be affected and we will have a bad day. Sometimes friends in your team can not be very good for your friendship because it may become ruined by an argument. Our team communicates a lot and we are all satisfied with each other. For the next couple of weeks, we will split the work and work on it for the week. This will help us become very efficient and finish the task quicker.
Team communication is very important and I feel that our team is steadily building up the necessary chemistry. Our team is having substantial discussions daily, and each time our communication skills increase. My team is mainly motivated and filled to the brim with energy. We can be argumentative at times, but disputes are all resolved with a small debate.
A good leader works with his team members, pointing them on the right path while maintaining efficiency. Leadership in our team is clearly shown, however, we have a system to balance the power of the leader. Our team believes that a leader is necessary to keep order in the company. However, the other members of the team may override decisions with a vote. This system works as there are 3 other people other than the leader, so a proper vote may occur. A team should start with an equal team, so that each decision is justified and each person can show their opinion. When a team progresses in the stages of business, a clear leader should be chosen.
Conflicts in our group have been managed quite easily and in a mannerly fashion. A lively discussion occurs and is ended with a vote after each person’s opinions have been voiced. The most effective strategy to keep everyone on task is to monitor the person next to you. This way we build as a team as well as be efficient. I feel that no one should be fired as our team chemistry has been built up, and we couldn’t progress without each other.
Team personality is a substantial section of teamwork. If someone isn’t being positive, the whole team is effected. Sometimes friendship shouldn’t be in teams as simple arguments may ruin this bond. However, to be okay with other team members is very important as communication will be more elementary. Our team is following this quite well. While we know each other quite well, we are progressing quickly and are working better each day. Essential strategies for the next few weeks include splitting work at the beginning of the week to know your tasks for the entirety of the weeks. This will maximize efficiency by letting you have a task to finish.
